WINTER ACTIVITIES

On Snow Race Day

  • OFFICIAL FLIER
    Okemo Mountain, VT “Wardance Trail”
  • Registration Feb 2-20 “Admin Ski Racing”, filter VARA Region, Okemo Events
  • Saturday, March 2, 2024
  • Time: 10:30 noon – 4:00 pm (minimum of 150 Pre-Registered Racers)
    **If we register 200 racers we will have Wardance Trail from 10:00 – 4:00 pm
  • 5 Races: Team, Women’s, Club, Snowboard, and Youth
  • Race Entry via Admin Sports
  • Cost: Race Entry (and Lift Ticket) without a valid Epic Pass – $65.00
    Race Entry Alone – with valid weekend Epic Pass – $35.00
  • Chaperone lift ticket $49 (Note:  Each racer can purchase two chaperone tickets)
  • All Ski Racers must register via Admin Sports no later than 2 weeks before the event
  • All Ski Club Race Captains must give their Team Entry List of Racers (sorted by Event and Order) to “Glenn Johnson, Newington Ski Club,” on or before Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
**Those without a valid weekend Epic Pass (after registering via Admin Sports for the Race) will receive their Lift Ticket on the morning of the race from an Okemo Mtn. agent with proof of ID. A special location will be designated for this at a later date.
 
Racers that pay $65.00 for Entry + Lift Ticket will receive their Lift Ticket from their Race Captain on the morning of the Race inside the Main Base Lodge/2nd FLoor. 
Chaperone Tickets must be paid for separately by the Racer at a ticket window in the ClockTower on the morning of the Race.

 

 Kids Day 2024

Event Date: Saturday, February 3, 2024 Where: Mount Southington, CT
Registration Check-in 2:30 – 4:30; Lessons 4:30-6:30 pm.

We are accepting volunteers to help with our efforts.

Please read and plan to abide by the rules outlined below:

  1. MT SOUTHINGTON AND THE CSC KIDS DAY TEAM ASKS THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS REVIEW AND FOLLOW
    THESE GUIDELINES FOR THE EVENT:

  2. THE $20 REGISTRATION FEE MUST BE SENT TO MY ADDRESS TO ARRIVE BY THE CUTOFF DATE OF
    JANUARY 24th, 2024. CHECKS TO BE MADE TO CONNECTICUT SKI COUNCIL.
  3. YOUNGEST AGE FOR PARTICIPANTS IS AGE 6 (TURN 6 BY JANUARY 1, 2024). UPPER AGE LIMIT IS 18.
  4. ADULT LIFT TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED FROM THE MOUNTAIN. LET THE MOUNTAIN KNOW THAT
    YOU ARE WITH THE CSC, HAVE YOUR CLUB CARD WITH THIS YEAR’S STICKER READY TO GET A $10
    DISCOUNT FROM THE REGULAR 8 HOUR LIFT TICKET PRICE.
  5. IF YOU ARE RENTING EQUIPMENT, THE EVENT PRICING FOR KIDS IS $45.00. HELMETS ARE EXTRA.
    PLEASE LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO RENT AND PUT ON RENTAL EQUIPMENT.
  6. FOOD IS AVAIABLE AT THE MOUNTAIN.
  7. IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION, ALL REGISTRATION MONEY WILL BE RETURNED.

AS WE ALL KNOW, CONDITIONS WITH THE WEATHER CHANGE DAILY – THERE WILL BE WEEKLY UPDATES CONTAINING ANY CHANGES IN THE KIDS DAY SECTION ON THE COUNCIL WEBSITE AND CONNECTICUT SKI COUNCIL FACEBOOK PAGE – PLEASE MONITOR THIS.

Monday Night Racing

Monday night Racing is a fun social event.  Is it a NASTAR race league that anyone can race in on.  We race 8 Monday nights during the season.  Please see our Racing page for details.

The Stars are out, the lights are on.  It’s a great time to gather and make new friends. Most clubs enjoy some pizza after the race.  We’d LOVE to have you join us.

 

Snowball

November – It is an “annual” social gathering of our members to kick off the ski season.

Description of Club Duties
All clubs are expected to donate raffle prizes toward the raffle.
Sell tickets to your own club members and pay the CSC for ticket sales with a certified bank check

Committees;
Tickets – order in packs of 50 and sell them
Raffle – collect prizes, fishbowls, and coordinate the raffle as well as sell raffle tickets.
Decorations – set up tables, coordinate seating and decorate the ballroom
Door/Security – make sure everyone has a ticket to enter – and make sure no outside alcohol enters the ballroom
 
 

Meetings

The CSC meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month May through September at The Back Nine in New Britain 7:30 pm.

A representative from each club attends our meeting so we can plan, events, share information, eat dinner, and volunteer our time to the ski community.
